Chief of Air Staff Visits DG NCC Republic Day Camp -2014

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chief of Air Staff (CAS) accompanied by Mrs Lily Raha visited the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp 2014 at Delhi Cantt today. On arrival, the Air Chief was received by the DGNCC, Lt Gen AniruddhaChakravarty. 

The Chief of Air Staff reviewed a ‘Guard of Honour’ presented by smartly turned out cadets from all the three wings of the NCC i.e. Army, Navy and Air Force. 

This was followed by a brilliant Band Display by cadets from Birla BalikaVidyapeeth, Pilani and NER Directorate in their colourful attire playing martial tunes. 

The CAS also inspected the well laid out tableaus prepared by the NCC cadets from all NCC Directorates depicting the various Social Awareness themes. He was crisply briefed by cadets on their respective sand models. 

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha thereafter, visited ‘Hall of Fame’, a proud possession of NCC with display of rich archival collection of alumni photographs, models, motivational and other visual delights of the three wings of NCC. 

Then he was driven around the unit lines. He was impressed by the high standard of layout and cleanliness. 

The Air Chief along with other distinguished guests later witnessed a spectacular ‘Cultural Programme’ by the talented cadets in the NCC auditorium which included group song by WB & Sikkim Directorate, Ballet by J&K Directorate and group dance by Maharashtra and AP Directorates. 

In his address on the occasion, the CAS complimented the cadets for their impressive performance. He also praised the role played by NCC for spearheading the onerous task of training the youth of the country by following latest trends of curriculum as well as making NCC as an elective subject.

 The CAS congratulated DGNCC on the successful conduct of the recently conducted NCC National Games and summiting of Mt. Everest. 

He also lauded the contribution of NCC fraternity including its alumni for their vital and dynamic role towards Nation Building, Disaster Management, Social Empowerment and Environment conservation.
