The Union Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Pradeep Jain today informed that his Ministry is not formulating any new job scheme at present. Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said, the Ministry is already implementing job schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana, SGSY/ National Rural Livelihood Mission for wage and self-employment respectively for people living in villages including backward areas of the country. He said, the Ministry of Rural Development has noticed a few lacunae like delay in payment of wages and delay in release of State share by some of the State Governments under rural employment programme. Shri Jain informed that State Governments were also issued necessary advisories to adopt five pronged strategy. They are as follows-1) creation of awareness about the schemes, (2) transparency, (3) people’s partnership, (4) accountability & social audit and the fifth one about the strict vigilance and monitoring at all levels to improve the implementation process.
