Centre Provided Rs. 1.10 lakh Crore to the states under NRHM : Smt Santosh Chowdhary 9 Ambulances cum Mobile Medical Lab dedicated to the people

The UPA Government is fully committed to provide improved health facilities to the people at their doorstep and does not discriminate with any state in health matter says Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Smt. Santosh Chowdhary . 

She was speaking at a health awarness camp held in Hoshiarpur of Punjab today. Mrs Santosh Chowdhary said that National Rural Health Mission has proved to be a boon in strengthening the health infrastructure in the country. 

She said that the centre has provided an amount of Rs. 1.10 lakh crore to the states to improve the health infrastructure and facilities. She said that the centre has sanctioned Rs. 2200 crore in the last six-seven years to the state of Punjab. 

She added that Rs. 65 crore has been sanctioned for the Punjab under the National Free Medicine Programme for the current fiscal. She emphasis on to create awareness among the general public so that they can take full benefit of the health scheme.

 Expressing her satisfaction over the improved sex-ratio in Punjab, She said that the credit for this achievement goes to the ASHA and Anganwari workers. 

On the occasion Smt. Santosh Chowdhary dedicated 9 Ambulance cum Mobile Medical Lab to the people which has been fabricated with financial support from Member Parliament Local Area Development Fund . 

She flagged off these ambulances for the nine-assembly segment of Hoshiarpur Parliamentary Constituency, which is being represented by Smt. Santosh Chowdhary.

 Hundreds of people throng to the Roshan Ground the venue of the health awareness camp to avail the health facilities of free test, free medicine and health check up . Senior Doctors from Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Delhi and PGI Chandigarh participated in the camp.
